VPK stands for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, and it is an education program funded through the Florida Department of Education. The state of Florida guarantees a year of pre-kindergarten preschool education free of charge to every 4-year-old child in the state. The goal of the VPK education program is to enable every child to be ready to learn by the time he or she enters kindergarten.
An A Rated Prekindergarten School:
Tampa Elite Sports Academy has earned the grade of an A for the 2015-2016 school year. The coalition and the school board have an outline of assessments each child is tested and graded on. After each child is tested, we receive an overall grade. We received a grade of 100% which is the highest grade possible. We are very proud to be an A school and will continue to thrive to remain an A school.
What Makes our Pre School VPK Different?
Tampa Elite Sports Academy’s objective is to help your child blossom into the next stage of their life. TESA Pre School and VPK program provides the students with a small class setting allowing them to receive more one on one attention and provide extra assistance where needed.
Our lead teacher has 8 years of teaching experience, a Child Development Associates certification and is bilingual. Spanish is incorporated in the daily lessons to help further their knowledge and communication. Being a sports academy, we explore many mainstream sports and introduce the basic fundamentals and rules of the game.
The students not only get free play in the playground but they learn how to be a team player from the many sports and recreational games that are played. Tampa Elite’s Sports Academy uses Creative curriculum as our support system to teach our students. Our curriculum allows the students to learn writing, reading, beginning algebra, beginning geometry, beginning addition and subtraction. The students get to explore their creativeness through dramatic play and explore many different avenues of art. Together, we will achieve our goals and have each child ready to take on kindergarten.
Our Food Program
Cornerstone Children’s Nutrition Connection requires us to serve age specific meals that meet their program requirements. Allergies and substitutions are taken very seriously, we have the capability to find an alternative food approved by the program, and distribute if necessary. A significant goal of the Child Care Food Program (CCFP) is to safely serve nutritious meals and snacks that’s meet program meal requirements and are appetizing to children. To help achieve this goal, there are several policies regarding meals that child care providers must meet when participating in the CCFP. Child care providers must ensure that each meal served to children contains, at minimum, each of the food components in the amounts indicated for the appropriate age group as stated in the CCFP Meal Pattern Children.
At TESA we will provide your child with a nutritious breakfast and snacks. Lunch is provided by the parent if your child attends our facility for a full time care. At Tampa Elite Sports Academy we promote quality nutrition prepared fresh daily. Preventing childhood obesity through nutrition is our goal.
